Unlike traditional "online" tools that require uploading your files to remote servers, our applications run entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly.

Think of us as a one-time investment in your digital privacy—no subscriptions, no data mining, no hidden costs. Just honest tools that respect your boundaries.

What Data We Collect

Important: Even when we collect anonymous usage data, we use privacy-respecting analytics that do not use cookies or track individuals. We care about how our tools are used, not who uses them.

How Our Tools Work (The Technical Part)

Every tool on You ❤️ PDF—from the PDF compressor to the BMI calculator—runs entirely in your browser. Here's what that means in practice:

1. You select a file or enter data on your device.
2. Your browser reads the file into memory using JavaScript—no data is sent to any server.
3. The tool processes the file locally using your device's CPU and RAM.
4. You download the result—the processed file is created on your device and never leaves it.

This architecture means we cannot access your files even if we wanted to. There are no servers to hack, no databases to breach, no cloud storage to leak. Your privacy is protected by design, not just by policy.

Tool-Specific Privacy Notes

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We do not use tracking cookies. We believe you shouldn't be followed around the internet by ads based on what you do here.

The only cookies that may be set are strictly functional (e.g., remembering your theme preference if applicable). These cookies:

• Contain no personal information
• Are not used for advertising
• Cannot track you across websites
• Expire when you close your browser (session cookies)

We use Plausible Analytics or similar privacy-focused analytics that do not use cookies and comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations. These analytics give us basic usage data (like which tools are popular) without identifying individual users.

Third-Party Services

You ❤️ PDF uses the following third-party services, all of which respect user privacy:

• Cloudflare - For DNS and DDoS protection. They may see your IP address briefly, but we have strict data processing agreements in place.
• Font Awesome - For icons. They do not track users.
• Google Fonts - For typography. Used in a privacy-preserving manner (self-hosted where possible).

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or any advertising trackers.

Data Retention

We retain zero user data. Because we don't collect your files or personal information, there's nothing to retain. The only data that exists is:

• Temporarily in your browser's memory - When you use a tool, data is loaded into RAM and is automatically cleared when you close the tab or refresh the page.
• In anonymized server logs - Our hosting provider may keep brief server logs (IP addresses, requested pages) for security purposes. These logs are automatically deleted after 30 days and are not used for tracking.

Children's Privacy

Our tools are general-purpose and may be used by anyone. However, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information (though note: we likely don't have it in the first place).

Your Privacy Rights
